Erica Seccombe
A journey into another dimension
21-23 June 2012
Australian artist Erica Seccombe uses technology at the frontier of science to create works that challenge notions of authenticity and replication while exploring the boundary of the real and the simulated. Nanoplastica presents a plastic menagerie, scanned using 3D Microcomputer Tomograph X-ray Technology. These brightly-coloured creatures seem both hyperreal and surreal, challenging the visitor to decide where biology ends and technology begins.
Nanoplastica has been made possible with the support of Acme Studio’s international residency programme, and we are excited to host it on the one-year anniversary of SFTF. The exhibition will be open for three days only so please come by to experience it!
